- Wrong. I post all time... if you count the Twitter feed to the left.
- Yeah, Twitter. I first reacted to Twitter the way I maturely react to many new things: "That's stupid." Over time, I realized -- and I am putting this in writing -- I was wrong about Twitter. Sure, it's kind of moronic to mostly tell your nine followers things such as how you are eating a ham sandwich or buying some gum. But that's why you'd only have nine followers. Twitter is actually a very powerful communication platform when played for its strengths.
- Blogging used to be kind of novel. Then it got so as everyone had a blog. Then Facebook took away some of the need for a blog (or just made it a lot easier for the personal stuff a wider audience would find mundane).
- I moved a lot of my political angst to Facebook (That caused me to lose some Facebook friends as a result. Don't let that big Facebook door hit you on the ass on your way out!)
- Kerfuffle sort of lost its focus. It was always random, but it was still mostly personal observations on random things. Eventually it was less random and more just a hodge-podge of things far afield. (I plan to work on that.)
- Grad school, especially with the PhD work, gave me many, many opportunities to write. Too many at times. Back when I was paid to mostly sit around at Lindsay Stone and Briggs, I had a ton of time to research and compose posts both here and on Daily Kos. I had no other outlets to do any serious or even humorous writing. Now I do.
- I have too many feeds, platforms, and gadgets! Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, AudioBoo, Instagram, FourSquare, Gowalla, iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Eye-Fi, YouTube, Vimeo, MediatedCommunication, J646blog, DailyKos, and on and on. The "shiney keys syndrome" perhaps? Same amount of social media and gadget time but divided over a lot more options for spending that time.
- I'm inherently lazy.
- I began to rely too much on re-purposed material. What was once "filler" became the main content in place of original writing. Filler's OK, unless that becomes all you have to offer.
- Studying social media, mediated communication, and all that stuff became competition for actually participating in those parts (blogging) that take the most time.
- Did I mention I'm kind of lazy?
So, yeah... something has to change. I've thought about ending Kerfuffle... considering it to have been a fun, educational, and worthwhile experience. Or... maybe I can see if I can get back to what made it fun in the first place: random, concise (so very hard for me) observations of things on a regular basis.
I'm going to try... one more time... for the latter.
I hope you do. I kinda miss your smart ass remarks. Not that there aren't plenty of them on Facebook.

You're an inspiration Harv... you post every day. I need to stick to shorter, more pointed pieces and maybe I can get three or four a week like I used to.
